
Bence L. Raposa, Ph.D., Habil.
Dr. Bence L. Raposa currently holds the position of Associate Professor at the Faculty of Health
Sciences, University of Pécs, within the Institute of Health Sciences, Midwifery, and Health
Visiting. He also serves as the Head of the Department of Preventive and Perinatal Medicine.
His primary research areas include the molecular epidemiology and epigenetics of various food
additives, with a particular focus on tumorigenesis, as well as the relationship between
colorectal cancer and the microbiome.
Dr. Raposa is an active member of several esteemed professional organizations and committees,
including the Society of Hungarian Oncologists (MOT), the European Association for Cancer
Research (EACR), and the Food Science Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences
(MTA). He also holds leadership positions within the Hungarian Dietetic Association (MDOSZ)
and the Hungarian Society of Nutrition (MTtT).
His academic and professional achievements have been recognized with numerous awards and
distinctions. He was honored with the Pro Universitate Juventutis award by the University of
Pécs. In 2018, the Hungarian Scientific Society of New York acknowledged his research
excellence with the prestigious Albert Szent-Györgyi Young Investigator Award. In 2019, he
was named Scientific Dietitian of the Year by the Hungarian Dietetic Association and received
the For Hungarian Nutrition Science Youth Award from the Hungarian Society of Nutrition.
Additionally, he was awarded the Tangl Ferenc Memorial Medal in recognition of his
contributions to the field.
For his dedication to talent development, Dr. Raposa received the Bonis Bona award in 2020,
followed by the Pro Cura Ingenii award in 2023. In 2024, he and his co-authors were honored
with the Heim Pál Award for Outstanding Publication of the Year for their research article titled
„Targeted Lactate Dehydrogenase Genes Silencing in Probiotic Lactic Acid Bacteria: A
Possible Paradigm Shift in Colorectal Cancer Treatment?”, in which he served as the
corresponding author.
